  • It is calculated as: Current Share Price × Total Number of Shares.
  • Large Cap: Very big, stable companies (Top 100).
  • Mid Cap: Medium size, higher growth potential (Next 150).
  • Small Cap: Smaller companies, higher risk, highest growth potential.

Real-world example

Reliance Industries has a market cap of over ₹15 Lakh Crore. A small startup listed on SME exchange might have a market cap of ₹50 Crore.
